KLWN’s Hank Booth to work for chamber

Longtime Lawrence radio executive and personality Hank Booth is set to add to his duties by going to work for the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce.

Booth, a fixture as station manager and host of a morning show at KLWN, will be working with existing chamber staffers.

A formal announcement regarding Booth’s chamber responsibilities is expected this morning.

“The chamber’s very lucky that he’s interested in partnering with us,” said Joan Golden, chairwoman of the chamber’s board of directors. “That’s a very positive thing. Anytime he’s out there talking on behalf of the chamber – whether it’s for Leadership Lawrence, membership or economic development – that benefits us all.”

Golden said the chamber work would be scheduled around Booth’s existing work duties, which include serving as play-by-play voice for Lawrence High School football and as public-address announcer for Kansas University football and basketball.

Booth’s daughter, Becca Booth, already works at the chamber as director of membership development.
