WWI museum to offer free admission Nov. 11

The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, Mo., will have free admission on Veterans Day, which is Nov. 11.

The free admission, which does not apply to the Liberty Memorial tower, was made possible by a gift from TriWest Healthcare Alliance.

The museum will open at 11 a.m. after the annual Veterans Day Observance Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. outside, on the museum’s observation deck.

The holiday’s activities will include “Learn about your WWI veteran,” which includes a free educational program from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The museum also will feature “Visions of Valor,” a free traveling exhibit featuring portraits of living Medal of Honor recipients.

The exhibit will run Saturday through Jan. 6, in the museum’s research center gallery on the lower level of the complex.
