J’Mison “Bobo” Morgan, a 6-10 senior center from Dallas’ South Oak Cliff High, chose LSU over KU, UCLA, Alabama and Cincinnati on Friday at a news conference at the high school.

Morgan had hats of the five schools lined up on the table behind which he was sitting. He put the LSU hat on his head, indicating his choice. He said Alabama was his runner-up.

“It was a difficult decision. I wanted to choose a place I felt comfortable at, and I thought LSU was a better fit for me than the others,” Morgan said. “I have a great relationship with the coaches and the team, and, mainly, I just felt the most comfortable there.”

South Oak Cliff coach James Mays said: “He couldn’t have gone wrong with any of his five choices, but made a great pick. All of those schools that recruited him worked in a way that was respectable and fair.”

KU, which could award up to seven scholarships, has received oral commitments from Markieff and Marcus Morris, 6-10 and 6-8 from Philadelphia; Quintrell Thomas, 6-8, Newark, N.J.; Travis Releford, 6-4, Kansas City; and Mario Little, 6-5, Chicago.

Juco Junction on Friday deemed Chipola (Fla.) Community College sophomore standout Little the No. 1 junior-college player in the country.

Devoe Joseph, 6-2 from Ontario, Canada, will visit KU, Vanderbilt, Minnesota and Virginia Tech in coming weeks. Willie Warren, 6-3 from Fort Worth, Texas, who is considering KU, Oklahoma and others, will sign in the spring.
