Injury accidents

¢ Tanika Townsend, 24, Lawrence, was taken to Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., after a 4 a.m. accident Wednesday east of Lawrence on the Kansas Turnpike. She was treated and released from the hospital Wednesday morning. Townsend lost control of her westbound 2000 Ford sport utility vehicle and struck the trailer of a 2007 Volvo semitrailer, driven by a Topeka man. He was not injured, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority report.
