Advance voting for April 3 election begins

Advance voting got under way last week as Douglas Countians prepare for the April 3 general election.

Nearly 80 people have voted in advance at the county courthouse, 1100 Mass., Keith Campbell, deputy clerk in charge of elections, said Wednesday.

More than 100 had mailed in their advance voting ballots. About 730 advance ballots have been requested and mailed out, Campbell said.

Advance voting always starts 20 days before the election.

If you want to advance vote by mail, you need to request a ballot from the clerk’s office.

Advance voting applications can be found online at douglascountyelections.com.

The applications can be printed out.

They must be mailed and received at the county election office in the courthouse before 5 p.m. March 30.
