Shooting during spring break kills teen

? A Florida teenager became the first victim of spring break early Sunday when he was shot in the head following an argument at a Daytona Beach hotel, police said.

Authorities said Matthew Castro, 28, of Jacksonville, Fla., approached Lance David Ulland, 18, of Kissimmee, in Room 127 at the Atlantic Economy Inn about 3:30 a.m. and shot him after an apparent argument.

Daytona Beach Police Chief Michael Chitwood said the victim may have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time, as the accused gunman went to various doors searching for someone who possibly crossed him earlier, witnesses said.

“There were four people in that room,” Chitwood said. “And whoever opened that door was going to get shot.”

Castro was booked into the Volusia County branch jail in Daytona Beach on a first-degree homicide charge. No bail was available and he was scheduled to appear before a judge this afternoon.
