The Journal-World sports section was named one of the top 10 Sunday sections in the country by the Associated Press Sports Editors.

The Journal-World also was one of 10 papers to receive honorable mention for its daily section, making it one of the top 20 sections in the country.

Additionally, Sports Editor Tom Keegan and sports writer Ryan Wood were named finalists for their writing entries in the breaking-news category.

The paper competed in the under-40,000 circulation classification.

It marks the fourth time in the last five years the Journal-World garnered at least one top-10 finish in a section category.
