Kansas University named Sara Rosen associate vice provost and dean of graduate studies Friday.

Rosen is a professor of linguistics and chairwoman of the KU linguistics department. She arrived at KU in 1991 as an assistant professor, becoming an associate professor in 1996 and a full professor in 2006. She has been the linguistics department chairwoman since 2000.

Rosen takes her new position shortly after KU combined its graduate school with its research office.
