Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police released no details about a reported wreck Tuesday evening in the 1500 block of West 22nd Terrace. Officers were still finishing the accident report, a police spokesman said.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ Some $1,700 in loss was reported by a 22-year-old Lawrence man in the 400 block of John Doy Court. The incident occurred between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday. A window screen and miscellaneous items were stolen or damaged.

¢ A gold wedding band, valued at $4,000, was reported stolen by a guest at Econo Lodge, 2222 W. Sixth St. The theft occurred between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday.

¢ Some $1,100 in property was stolen from a 27-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Sixth Street between 9 p.m. June 17 and 12:05 a.m. Saturday. A gold and diamond ring and silver Relic watch were the items reported missing.

Injury accidents

¢ A Leavenworth man was involved in a one-vehicle wreck Tuesday near the Douglas-Shawnee county line. John S. McClelland, 28, was driving a 2005 Mercury west on U.S. Highway 40 around 1 a.m. when he failed to make the curve and hit an Interstate 70 concrete bridge column.

The Leavenworth man was not wearing a seat belt. McClelland was transported by a helicopter ambulance to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., according to a Shawnee County Sheriff’s Department report. Sheriff’s officers are still investigating the wreck, and a report on McClelland’s condition was unavailable.
