Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police were dispatched at 7:10 p.m. Monday after a report of someone throwing a burning object from a green Ford Escort in the drive-through lane at McDonald’s, 1309 W. Sixth St.

The object landed on the wet pavement and was extinguished by the rain. The drive-through window was closed at the time of the incident. Police recovered a burned McDonald’s sack on the ground beneath the drive-through window.

¢ An 18-year-old Topeka man was arrested Tuesday afternoon by a Lawrence police officer on outstanding warrants, one for a robbery charge and another for a criminal damage to property charge, according to Douglas County Jail records. Additional information was unavailable Tuesday night.

¢ A 54-year-old Lawrence woman reported criminal damage that occurred between 9 p.m. Saturday and midnight Sunday in the 3000 block of 30th Court. Two vehicles, a 1999 black Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and a 1987 silver Jeep Grand Cherokee, sustained about $4,000 in damage.

¢ Capital Federal Savings, 1046 Vt., reported $1,000 in damage when two plate glass windows were broken around 4:20 a.m. Saturday.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 20-year-old Overland Park man reported a theft in the 400 block of Country Club Terrace that he alleged happened around 11 a.m. Friday. Some $12,025 of property, including a Sony Vaio laptop computer, was taken from his car.

¢ Roughly $1,000 in property was stolen from a residence in the 2500 block of West 31st Street around 3 a.m. Saturday. The items stolen were a 19-inch flat screen television and a power cord.

¢ Items worth $2,945 were taken between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday from the 2900 block of Schwarz Road. The burglar damaged a dog door panel and took a computer and keyboard.

¢ Between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Friday, a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu belonging to a 27-year-old Lawrence woman was taken from the 1400 block of Kasold Drive. The car is valued at $6,000.

¢ A 21-year-old man in the 2400 block of West 24th Terrace reported a break-in and property stolen from his car between 11 p.m. Thursday and 12:45 p.m. Friday. Damage and items stolen from his red Chevrolet Blazer totaled $1,900.

¢ About $1,200 in compact discs were stolen around midnight Saturday from a car parked in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street.
