Lawrence Memorial Hospital is looking for volunteers who can make a three month commitment for three hours a week to provide excellent quality service to patients, visitors and staff.

LMH seeks volunteers for the following departments and shifts: LMH South GI lab from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays; escorting and transporting patients from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays; and helping in the LMH Gift Shop and in the surgery waiting area. Immediate volunteer needs

¢ Safe Kids of Douglas County seeks volunteers to help with its Child Passenger Safety Checklanes program twice a month. Volunteers are needed to pick up snacks, transport new car seats and supplies to the event, greet and register individuals, help with setup, work as interpreters and more. To help, contact John J. ¢ The Centro Hispano Resource Center seeks volunteers to help with the Cultural Saturdays summer program for Latino elementary students in Lawrence. Volunteers do not need to speak Spanish. To help, contact Rachael Perry at (785) 221-0545 or curlyrae@ku.edu.

¢ The Lawrence Humane Society needs volunteers to take animals for visits at nursing homes in Douglas County. Shifts include Wednesday and Thursday afternoon visits, two to four times each month. Contact Amy Povich at the humane society, 843-6835.
