CLINTON LAKE (updated 6-6) – Water 72 degrees and 5.91 feet above normal pool. Discharge 1,800 cfs. Crappie fair using minnows over cover. Flathead catfish good in the outlet using sunfish, shad and jigs. Walleye-sauger fair in the outlet on jigs.

PERRY LAKE (updated 6-7) – Channel catfish good in shallows on worms and cranks in the rocks. Sauger fair in shallows on shad, cranks or twisters along the weeds. White bass fair to good on rocky points and rip-rap with twisters or shad-colored crankbaits. White crappie slow. Fish have scattered. Try jigs or minnows at 8-12 feet. Note: Lake is still high but falling fast. State parks ramps will be usable soon. Slough Creek ramps, Perry Marina and Thompsonville open.

DOUGLAS STATE LAKE (updated 6-6) – Closed to fishing. Repairs have been completed, but lake tentatively won’t reopen until January of 2009 in order to allow re-stocked fish to mature. Currently over 90 acres in basin.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (updated 6-6) – Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and plastic worms. Channel catfish fair using chicken liver, stinkbait and nightcrawlers. Bluegill fair using worms under bobber. Note: All five air lines active. Feeders are working.

LONE STAR LAKE (updated 5-31) – Largemouth bass good using jigs and spinners. Bluegill good using worms under bobber or casting jigs or small spinners. Channel catfish fair using stinkbait, livers and nightcrawlers. Note: Electrofishing May 14 revealed an abundance of largemouth bass of good quality.

LAKE SHAWNEE (updated 6-6) – Water 80 degrees and clear to 36 inches. Channel catfish good using chicken livers and worms. Walleye good using jig and nightcrawler on flats. Largemouth bass good using cranks and spinners. Wiper good using cranks, spinners and jig and nightcrawler. Note: Electrofishing May 29 revealed a high catch rate of 10- to 15-inch largemouth bass with a few weighing up to five pounds.
