Ex-governor leads highway alliance

The American Highway Users Alliance on Thursday named former Kansas Gov. Bill Graves as chairman of the organization, which represents motorists, bus companies, truckers, RV enthusiasts, motorcyclists and businesses that depend on highways to transport their families, customers, employees and products.

Graves remains president and chief executive officer of the American Trucking Associations, a 37,000-member trade association for the trucking industry.

Graves served two terms as Kansas governor, ending in January 2003.
