UMKC official named chancellor in Minnesota

A University of Missouri-Kansas City official has been named the University of Minnesota-Rochester’s first-ever chancellor.

Stephen Lehmkuhle will oversee a major expansion of the university’s presence in Rochester that is under way.

Lehmkuhle now serves as senior vice president for academic affairs at Missouri. In 2005, he was UMKC interim chancellor for eight months.

University of Minnesota regents are expected to approve Lehmkuhle’s appointment at a Sept. 7 meeting.
