Organization plans ice cream social

The Clinton Lake Historical Society will have its annual ice cream social fundraiser Saturday at the Wakarusa River Valley Heritage Museum.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the museum courtyard. A program will feature Arnold Schofield, who will portray abolitionist John Brown. Schofield is the superintendent of Mine Creek Battlefield near Pleasanton.

The museum is in Clinton Lake’s Bloomington Park, just east of the town of Clinton. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. There will be homemade ice cream, cake, pies and cookies.
