Final chapter
As J.K. Rowling's beloved series draws to a close, Lawrence fans predict fate of Potter and friends
You’ve read the books. You’ve seen the movies.
And you’ve still got a good five days before “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the seventh and final novel in the wildly popular series by J.K. Rowling, hits the shelves.
That means five more days of pondering whether Harry Potter will die, whether Professor Snape is good or evil, where the horcruxes are and a host of other questions left hanging after the sixth book was released in 2005.
For many, those questions likely will mean no sleep Friday night and Saturday morning until the entire book is read.
“I can’t even wait for this book to be out,” says Elisabeth Jobst, who will be an eighth-grader at Tonganoxie Middle School. “Oh, the anticipation.”
To help combat that anticipation – or perhaps add fuel to the fire – we consulted our own panel of Potter experts to get their predictions for the final book. There were authors, the producer of a Potter podcast, librarians and local readers of all ages.
