Cub Scout Pack 3057, chartered to the St. John Catholic School PTO, participated in several events in recent weeks.

On May 11-13, Scouts attended the Webelos graduation campout in Baldwin City. Scouts attending included George Depenbusch, Eric Glogau, August Murphy Beach, Jack Powell and Elias Schneck. They were accompanied by adult leaders Dennis Depenbusch, Cindy Glogau, Nora Murphy, Brian Powell and Marlon Schneck.

On May 15, the pack conducted a bridging ceremony at St. John’s that included pizza and a potluck supper. Scouts advancing to second-year Webelos were George Depenbusch, Eric Glogau, August Murphy Beach, Jack Powell, Elias Schneck and Kyle Vogelsang.

New first-year Webelos included Brandon Bunting, KJ Lashley, Gabriel Magee, Noah Malsbury, Aidan Schaplowsky, Alex Waite, Sam Witte and Ben Witte.

Advancing to the rank of Bear were John Anderson, Andrew Bireta, Joshua Burrichter, Cody Dillon, Noah Funk, Ryan Glogau, Issac McCracken, Daniel Murray, Liam Rausch and Mark Smith.

Scouts who received the Wolf rank include Jimmy Cooper, Stephen Cory, George Haff IV, David Johnson, Jacob Lashley, Zachary Malsbury and Colton Sommers. New Tiger Scouts included Ethan Anderson, Bradley Bunting, Jack Burrichter, Joe Loats, Christopher Nau and Reed Pfeifer.

From June 4-8, the Cubs attended the Pelathe District Day Camp at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Cubs attending included Ethan Anderson, John Anderson, Andrew Bireta, Bradley Bunting, Brandon Bunting, Joshua Burrichter, Jimmy Cooper, Stephen Cory, George Depenbusch, Cody Dillon, Noah Funk, Connor Gabrielson, Eric Glogau, Ryan Glogau, George Haff IV, David Johnson, Jacob Lashley, KJ Lashley, Joe Loats, Gabriel Magee, Noah Malsbury, Zachary Malsbury, Isaac McCracken, August Murphy Beach, Reed Pfeifer, Jack Powell, Liam Rausch, Aidan Schaplowsky, Elias Schneck, Colton Sommer, Mark Smith, Kyle Vogelsang, Alex Waite, Ben Witte and Sam Witte.

Walking leaders attending were Chris Anderson, Mike Burrichter, Bill Cory, Kevin Dillon, Cyndy Glogau, David Inabinett, Jean Inabinett, Alan McCracken, Jean Pfeifer, Marlon Schneck and Dorian Witte.

Darci Depenbusch, Laurie Magee and Linda Koester-Vogelsang helped as staff members.

On June 16, the pack conducted a summertime event at the Pirate Ship at Cub World located at Camp Naish. Scouts attending included Ethan Anderson, John Anderson, Bradley Bunting, Brandon Bunting, Joe Loats, August Murphy Beach, Reed Pfeifer and Kyle Vogelsang.

Adult leaders and other family members attending included Chris Anderson, Theresa Bunting, Nora Murphy, Jean Pfeifer, Linda Koester-Vogelsang, Steve Vogelsang, Anna Marie Bunting, Daniel Bunting, Julie Loats, Bill Loats, Daniel Loats, Louise Loats, Jack Pfeifer, Luke Vogelsang and Sydney Vogelsang.

¢Boy Scout Troop 55, chartered to Westside Presbyterian Church, conducted its Scout Sunday on April 22. More than 40 Scouts, adult leaders and members of the Troop 55 family attended. Before the service, troop members showed slides of previous adventures to Philmont, Sea Base, Wichita Mountains, Richland Creek and other locations. During the service, members of the troop participated as ushers, liturgists, lay reader and the Moment for Mission speaker.

On April 27-29, first-year Scouts camped at Camp Bromelsick. Scouts attending included Ben Maloun, Conner Remboldt, Austin Johanning, Charlie Gaito, Clayton Pfeifer, Alex Houston, Michael Edman, Nick Pippert, Adam Hayes, Monte Turner, Aaron Gehrke, Bryce Lignell, Gage Buffington, John Bennett, Stephen Fulton, Tyler Robbins and Matthew Thompson. Older scouts who assisted included David Lawrence, Ulrich Johanning, Ludwig Johanning, Steven Howe, Jeremy Woodhead, Tyler Hanson, Johnathan Roberts, Isaac Remboldt, Ian Gent, Jamie Braden, Jacob Pfeifer, Kjell Mullenix, Mitch McCune, Griffin Kimmel, Josh Gore and Kevin Cottrell. Adult leaders included Cammie Braden, Monicka Remboldt, John Pfeifer, Scott Woodhead, Don Edman, Richard Gaito, Peter Houston, Bill Robbins, Scott Braden, Jim Peterson and Mike Howe. Bryce Baringer served as campfire host.

Among other events, the troop completed a service project at the Fraternal Order of Police training facility April 28. They planted 400 cedar trees. In addition to those who camped, Scouts and adult leaders who helped with the project include Colin O’Neal, Alan O’Neal, Joe Wilson, Jerry Ohlemeier, Annelee Marsh and Grady Walker.
