Topeka ? Richard Bastemeyer of Lawrence won $25,000 on Friday from a scratch-off Kansas Lottery ticket.

“When I scratched that ticket, I thought my eyes were playing games with me,” Bastemeyer said.

He purchased four American Idol tickets after his shift ended at Hamm’s Inc.

The second ticket was the winner. He called his wife, Karen, to tell her the news.

“I jokingly asked her how big of a Harley I could buy,” he said.
