HH Bar and Grill, a new restaurant concept by the owners of Hereford House, is ready to open at 11 a.m. today in northwest Lawrence.

The restaurant replaces the special-occasion steakhouse that closed in July 2006 and will feature a larger bar, pool tables and a menu including pizzas, burgers and a salad bar, said Rod Anderson, president of Anderson Restaurant Group.

Hours for the Lawrence operation are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, and until 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays, brunch will be from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner is set for 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The bar is open until 1:30 a.m. The restaurant will be closed Mondays.

General manager is Andres Pimental, who held the same title at Hereford House in downtown Kansas City, Mo.; the chef is Todd Brooks, also the executive chef for the restaurant group.
