Dallas ? Kansas University sophomore forward Darrell Arthur scored six points and had three blocked shots in Team USA’s 91-75 men’s basketball Global Games exhibition victory over China on Sunday in Moody Coliseum.

The 6-foot-9 Arthur hit three of five shots, missing his only three-point try. He had one rebound and five fouls in 19 minutes.

“It was pretty fun. I had some family members out there, and it was just fun playing in front of them again like I did in high school. It was good having the home crowd behind me,” Dallas native Arthur said. “We looked pretty good, but we’re trying to get the chemistry together.”

Kansas State’s Michael Beasley scored 12 points off 4-of-12 shooting with seven rebounds in 21 minutes. Texas A&M’s DeAndre Jordan had seven points off 3-for-4 shooting in 15 minutes. Tajuan Porter led the way with 20 points.

Yi Jianlian, picked sixth by Milwaukee in Thursday’s NBA Draft, had 15 points for China.

The Under 19 Select Team will meet Africa at 8 p.m. Thursday in Moody Coliseum.

It has been announced KU players Cole Aldrich and Tyrel Reed will compete for Global Games AA. The squad will meet Senegal at 6 p.m. Thursday and CJT at 2 p.m. Friday, then play a game in the final round Saturday.

¢KU guards Sherron Collins and Mario Chalmers attended NBA guard Steve Nash’s Skills Academy last weekend in New Jersey. Other college guards who worked out separately from high school standouts included UCLA’s Darren Collison, Duke’s Greg Paulus and Michigan State’s Drew Neitzel.

“I’ve got respect for him,” Collins told CSTV.com, referring to Memphis guard Derrick Rose. “A player of his caliber is going to do well next year. And he’s a good guy off the court. He’ll do Chicago right.”
