Lawrence receives performing arts grants

Mid-America Arts Alliance, a nonprofit regional arts organization based in Kansas City, has awarded more than $47,000 in Regional Touring Program (RTP) grants to multiple Kansas communities for the 2008 program year.

Kansas communities that have been selected to receive RTP grants for the 2008 program year include Lawrence, Emporia, Salina, Hays, Wichita, and many more.

This past year, RTP grants enabled communities to enjoy quality performing arts programming such as the Mozart Festival Opera, the Mystical Arts of Tibet and the National Philharmonic of Russia. This year’s funds will support performances by groups such as the Nebraska Theater Caravan, Paul Mesner Puppets, and the Aspen/Santa Fe Ballet.

The RTP awards are fully funded by the National Endowment for the Arts.
