Lebo’s big front line wears down Eagles

? Senior Nathan Hammer scored 12 points in Veritas Christian’s 56-38 loss to Lebo on Tuesday night in boys basketball.

The Eagles trailed by just six points (27-21) at halftime before faltering in the second half.

“We were in the game,” said Veritas coach Doug Bennett. “Our lack of depth … we wore out at the end. Their front line was 6-(foot)-8, 6-4, 6-4, and still we were right there with them rebounding.”

Of Hammer’s play, Bennett said: “He played a great game. He has shown huge improvement the last three games; he’s coming to play.”

Veritas will travel to Olathe Christian on Friday.
