William “Lindy” Eakin, Kansas University’s vice provost for administration and finance, has been named chairman of the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees. Eakin will serve a one-year term in the post.

An LMH trustee since 1999, Eakin has been treasurer for the past three years. He is a board member of Kaw Inc., a Lawrence technology transfer incubator, and served as a board member and president of Friends of the Lied Center.

Other LMH Board of Trustees’ officers are: Donna Osness, vice chair, retired from the Lawrence school district; Joe Flannery, treasurer, president of Weaver’s Department Store; and the Rev. Verdell Taylor, secretary, a pastor at St. Luke AME Church and therapist for Christian Psychological Services.
