Commissioners give Corliss a glowing review

'He has taken the job and run with it,' mayor says

New City Manager David Corliss received glowing reviews from city commissioners today as part of his annual performance review.

“He has taken the job and run with it,” Mayor Mike Amyx said after a two-hour executive session this afternoon. “He has exceeded every standard we have put in place. I can’t emphasize enough how much we appreciate the job he has done.”

Corliss took over as the community’s new city manager on Sept. 29, after serving as the interim city manager following the forced resignation of long-time City Manager Mike Wildgen in March.

Commissioners did not take any action to increase Corliss’ salary, which stands at $125,000 per year, in addition to $15,000 a year in deferred compensation for a retirement account. He also receives a $5,000 vehicle allowance.

Amyx, however, did not rule out an increase in Corliss’ salary. Commissioners are scheduled to have another executive session at their Feb. 6 meeting to discuss personnel matters.

Corliss said he appreciated the comments of commissioners.

“I look forward to having a productive 2007,” Corliss said.
