Cause of trailer fire under investigation

Palmyra Township Fire Department responded to a burning double-wide trailer at 5:18 a.m. Sunday.

The structure, located in the 100 block of E. 2100 Road in southeastern Douglas County, was fully engulfed in flames when the fire department arrived on scene, a Douglas County emergency dispatcher said.

Palmyra Township Fire Department Chief Randy DeMersseman said the cause of the fire was still under investigation by the state fire marshal’s office.

There were no reported injuries in the fire. DeMersseman said the trailer’s occupant was not home when the trailer caught fire.

Timothy Barrett is the property’s owner, Douglas County property records show. Barrett could not be reached for comment.
