Law enforcement report

¢ A 19-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man was arrested early Sunday on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon near a bar. The man was released from the Douglas County Jail on Sunday morning on bond and will appear later in Municipal Court, according to jail records. Additional information from police was not available Sunday.

¢ Lawrence police officers were investigating the death of a 19-year-old man Sunday afternoon in an apartment at Colony Woods Apartments, 1301 W. 24th St.

Sgt. Craig Shanks said police were called to the apartment about 2 p.m. after a report of an unresponsive person. Other people were inside the apartment at the time, he said. But no medical personnel were there, so it was treated as an unattended death, Shanks said.

He also said police would not release any further details until investigators completed their work to determine the nature of the death.
