St. Patrick’s auction set for this weekend

An auction this weekend will continue the annual fundraising events for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.

Viewing of items opens at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Hall, 644 Mass., with a silent auction at 6 p.m. and the live auction at 7 p.m. Items ranging from tickets to the Wakarusa Music Festival to season passes to the Kansas Speedway will be available.

Funds raised this year will benefit O’Connell Youth Ranch, Strategic Education Center and Operation Kindergarten.

On March 10, the 5K Shamrock Shuffle starts at 7 a.m. at Johnny’s Tavern, 401 N. Second St. That same day, there will be the Luck-of-the-Irish Poker Run starting at noon at Slow Ride Road House, 1350 N. Third St.

The coronation of the parade queen will be at 7 p.m. March 11 at the Flamingo Club, 501 N. Ninth St. A dinner at 5 p.m. will precede the coronation.

The 20th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 1 p.m. March 17 at 11th and Massachusetts streets, heading north across the Kansas River to the Flamingo Club.
