City seeks input on future building projects

Lawrence residents have until Friday to turn in ideas for major building, road and other capital projects that they want city commissioners to fund in coming years.

City staff members are seeking project ideas as they work to put together the 2008 through 2013 Capital Improvement Plan. The plan lists major building projects that the city plans to undertake.

In particular, the city is asking developers to participate in the process, in order to give the city a better idea of what roads the city may be asked to build to serve new neighborhoods and developments.

People who want to submit a project for consideration are asked to fill out a specific set of forms, which are available online at www.lawrenceks.org/budget.shtml. People also can pick up the forms at the city manager’s office on the fourth floor of City Hall, Sixth and Massachusetts streets.
