Journal-World editor on assignment in D.C.

Journal-World senior editor Bill Snead will be on temporary assignment in the Washington, D.C., area for the next few months. He’ll be working on projects for the Washington Post and its Web site, washingtonpost.com.

Snead was an editor and photographer at the Post for 21 years before returning to the Journal-World in 1993 to run the newsroom operation. He first worked at the Journal-World in 1954 while attending Lawrence High School.

The Post is in the process of creating new versions of its print and online products. One that Snead will be involved with is an upcoming Web site designated for Virginia’s Loudoun County – where Dulles International Airport, Leesburg, is located. Loudoun is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. Snead’s involvement will be similar to the role he’s played at the Journal-World and ljworld.com: reporting, photography and new ways to incorporate them into the product.

Snead will be sending blogs on “life in general” to ljworld.com while he’s in the Washington area.
