A head-on collision Monday night in Jefferson County killed one driver and injured another, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

John Michael Nunn, 43, of Valley Falls, died in the wreck. Nunn was driving a 1991 Honda Accord south on Kansas Highway 4 near the Shawnee County line when his car went left of the center line, according to a highway patrol report.

Nunn’s car was struck by a northbound 2003 Ford pickup truck driven by Thomas J. Henninger, 71, Topeka. Henninger was transported to St. Francis Health Center in Topeka. He was in good condition, a hospital spokesman said.

The accident occurred about 10:20 p.m.
