Eudora ? Ottawa High’s Victor Ojeleye scored 31 points, and the Cyclones needed each of them Tuesday night, pulling out a 61-59 boys basketball victory against Eudora.

Ojeleye did most of his damage in the opening three quarters as Ottawa took a 50-37 lead. However, Eudora used a 22-11 advantage in the final frame to get back into the game.

Kelson Boyer paced the Cardinals with 21 points.

Perry-Lecompton 60, Bonner Springs 48

Perry – Sophomore Shane Gimzo scored 15 points to lead a balanced attack, and the Kaws rode an early advantage to victory.

Four players scored at least nine points for Perry-Lecompton (11-6), which took a 32-18 lead into halftime and used a strong effort late at the free-throw line to hold off the Braves.

“The kids played very tough defense,” said Perry-Lecompton coach Jeff Dickson. “Down the stretch our kids were able to step up and get the stops we needed to.”

Caleb Denton was 6-for-6 at the charity stripe in the fourth quarter for Perry-Lecompton, which will play host to Kansas City Piper on Friday.

Tonganoxie 60, Santa Fe Trail 54, OT

Carbondale – Gabe Belabradjic scored 28 points, and the Chieftains defeated Sthe Chargers in overtime.

Jeff Hughes added 14 points for Tonganoxie.

Caleb Bahner scored 19 points for Santa Fe Trail.

Wathena 72, Oskaloosa 64

Wathena – The Bears played a close game against the Wildcats, but let a six-point lead after three quarters slip away.

Brock McGinnis led Oskaloosa with 26 points.

Girls

Bonner Springs 51, Perry-Lecompton 35

Perry – For the second straight game, the Kaws fell victim to an opposing player’s big quarter.

Bonner Springs’ Felisha Leipard scored all 19 of her points in the second quarter as the Braves opened a commanding 32-12 halftime lead.

“They were just too good,” said Perry-Lecompton coach Mark Armstrong. “Once they hit one, it just continued.”

Ashleigh Allam paced the Kaws (5-12) with 11 points.

Perry-Lecompton will return to action Friday at home against Kansas City Piper.

Tonganoxie 47, Santa Fe Trail 28

Carbondale – The Chieftains held the Chargers to 16 points over the first three quarters and remained unbeaten with the win.

Christy Weller led Tonganoxie with 11 points.

Brooke Pryor led Santa Fe Trail with 10 points.

Wathena 38, Oskaloosa 29

Wathena – The Bears struggled offensively in the loss.

Carol Allen finished with 14 points for Oskaloosa, but no one else managed more than six.
