KU football recruits sign letters of intent

Kansas University’s football team signed 19 players to letters of intent Wednesday, to go along with three junior-college players who signed as mid-year transfers in December.

All 19 are high school standouts. Seven come from the state of Texas and four — Ryan Murphy, Brian Murphy, Steven Foster and Isiah Barfield — are from Kansas. Ryan Murphy, out of Free State High, is rated by Rivals.com as the top recruit in the class.

One name missing was Aaron Mack. The defensive end out of Phoenix City College committed in December, but didn’t sign as a mid-year transfer or on Wednesday. It wasn’t immediately known what his plans are.
