Bill Clinton to speak at Democrats’ event

? Former President Bill Clinton will deliver the keynote address at the Kansas Democratic Party’s annual Washington Days celebration March 2 in Topeka, his second speech of the day in the state.

“It’s an incredible honor to have President Clinton celebrate Washington Days with us this year,” said state party chairman Larry Gates.

Last year, the featured speaker at Washington Days was Sen. Barack Obama, who along with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is considered among the leading contenders for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.

The 42nd president will speak earlier in the day at Kansas State University as part of the Landon Lecture series. Washington Days tickets are $125 each and will go on sale Feb. 14.
