Wizards’ Jamison to miss 3-6 weeks

Wizards forward Antawn Jamison will be sidelined three-to-six weeks because of a sprained left knee.

Jamison was injured when he banged knees with teammate DeShawn Stevenson in the first quarter of Tuesday’s win over Detroit. Jamison, who underwent an MRI on Thursday, won’t require surgery and will begin rehabilitation immediately.

“I was really starting to get in a good groove, so it’s frustrating that I’ll have to miss some time,” Jamison said.

Jamison is averaging 19.3 points and 7.9 rebounds, but his two best games of the season have come within the last week. He had 35 points against Detroit last Friday and 34 against Boston on Sunday.
