Jayhawks basketball author to sign books

Lawrence writer Steve Buckner, author of “Game of My Life – Kansas: Memorable Stories of Jayhawk Basketball,” will sign books for KU fans twice this month at Oread Books in KU’s Kansas Union.

The signings will be from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, before the men’s home game against K-State University, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 17 before the men’s home game against the University of Nebraska. The events are free and open to the public.

“Game of my Life – Kansas: Memorable Stories of Jayhawk Basketball,” published in January 2007 by Sports Publishing, includes a foreword by Bill Self, KU men’s basketball head coach, and is illustrated with photos, box scores and player profiles.

The book features interviews with 20 Kansas basketball legends of the past 20 years. Players featured include Mark Turgeon, Rex Walters, Steve Woodberry, Drew Gooden, Nick Collison, Keith Langford and Wayne Simien. Also, players from the 1988 NCAA Championship squad share insights into their defeat of rival Oklahoma in the national championship game.
