City to recycle live Christmas trees
The city of Lawrence will begin collecting live-cut Christmas trees on Monday.
The city’s Waste and Reduction department also will collect the trees that are set out at curbs and in alleys by 6 a.m. on two subsequent Mondays – Jan. 7 and Jan. 14. All artificial items, including tinsel, lights and tree stands, must be removed.
The trees will be used for wildlife habitat.
