Tiny-k staffers go to conference

Kristina Poracsky and Elaine McCullough, of tiny-k Early Intervention in Lawrence, attended the 11th annual International Conference on Optimal Outcomes for Children with Autism and Special Needs recently in Virginia.

Poracsky and McCullough, who are early childhood special education teachers, learned about Floortime, an approach to working intensively with young children with autism and other special needs.

The conference’s overall focus was on how children with autism learn by being engaged in play and interactions with others, and the development of their overall skills and abilities using the Floortime approach.

Tiny-k Early Intervention provides support and resources to children up to age 3 who have disabilities and developmental delays, and their families.
