So you think you know something about fashion?

The Metropolitan Museum of Art invites wannabe curators to submit blog entries commenting on the newest additions to its Costume Institute’s permanent collection.

“Blog.mode: Addressing Fashion” is a real-world exhibit of about 40 items from the 18th-century to the present. But that’s only half the show: On its Web site,individual looks are being highlighted to invite comment.

While some of the comments are clearly from real students of fashion, parsing and analyzing the designs and their significance, most of them are similar to comments on any blog – enthusiastic displays of support or criticism. See the exhibit at http://blog.metmuseum.org/blogmode/.
