Public invited to genealogy workshop

The Watkins Community History Museum and the Kansas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution will present a free genealogy workshop Sept. 5. People who are interested in tracing their genealogy to the Revolutionary War era are invited to attend.

The workshop will include lessons on where to find and how to use Census records, military pension records and area research facilities.

Materials will be provided to help start documenting family history.

The Kansas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution is a male lineage society whose members trace their ancestry to a person that participated in the Revolutionary War.

The program will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 5 at Watkins Community History Museum, 1047 Mass.
