Orioles 6, Yankees 3, 10 innings

New York – Miguel Tejada hit a tiebreaking double off Mariano Rivera in the 10th inning, and Aubrey Huff added a two-run homer to lead Baltimore past the Yankees on Wednesday.

Shelley Duncan’s three-run homer with two outs in the ninth sent the game to extra innings, but the Orioles bounced back quickly against Rivera (3-4), who blew a save in New York’s 7-6 win in the series opener Monday night.

Nick Markakis and Tejada doubled with nobody out, putting the Orioles up 4-3. Rivera got Kevin Millar to ground out, but Huff drove a 1-2 pitch into the bleachers in right-center for his second homer in two games.

Chad Bradford (2-5) worked 11â3 scoreless innings for the win.

Devil Rays 6, Red Sox 5

Boston – Al Reyes struck out Manny Ramirez with two on for the final out, helping starter Andy Sonnanstine end an eight-game losing streak. Sonnanstine (2-8) won his second major-league start on June 10 at Florida, 9-4. He hadn’t won since, and in his previous two outings he was 0-2 with a 13.50 earned-run average – he failed to get out of the fifth both times.

Twins 6, Mariners 1

Seattle – Torii Hunter hit a tiebreaking single in the eighth inning and a grand slam in the ninth for the Twins.

Hunter’s single off rookie Brandon Morrow also came with the bases loaded, after starting pitcher Jarrod Washburn (8-10) threw wide of first base for an error on Nick Punto’s sacrifice. That put runners at second and third, and Joe Mauer was intentionally walked before Hunter lined Morrow’s first pitch for his 80th RBI.

Indians 5, Tigers 2

Cleveland – Fausto Carmona struck out a career-high 10 and finally got his 14th win as Cleveland regained a share of the AL Central lead with Detroit.

Blue Jays 2, Angels 1

Toronto – Shaun Marcum won his fifth straight start, and Alex Rios had three hits for Toronto.

Athletics 3, White Sox 2

Oakland, Calif. – Mike Piazza broke a scoreless tie with an RBI single in the fourth, and Kurt Suzuki hit a two-run homer to lead Oakland to its first three-game winning streak since June 13-15.

Joe Blanton (10-8) won his second straight decision with his second victory in his last eight starts. He struck out five and didn’t walk a batter in seven scoreless innings. He allowed five hits.
