Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Aug. 14, 1907: From Tangier, Morocco: “Four thousand Moors attacked Casablanca this morning and were repulsed by French troops guarding the port. There reportedly has been terrific slaughter and the battle is not over. : A young woman accused of stealing several wallets here escaped to Kansas City due to bungling work by local police and the marshal in Eudora. She finally was arrested in Kansas City and will be brought back here for trial.”
