The Clinton Eagles 4-H Club‘s monthly meeting was July 22 at the Lieber-Hoyt home after the club mini-tour. Kahlyn Heine, president, called the meeting to order. The club welcomed guests from the Vinland Valley 4-H Club, who were participating in a club exchange.

Members answered roll call by naming their favorite thing at the fair. Song leaders Connor Shuck and Jared Fangman led members in “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” Secretary Delaney Dieker read the minutes of the last meeting, and they were approved. Treasurer Dustin Hoyt gave a report. Reporter Morgan Manger told the club that the report had been submitted to the Lawrence Journal-World. No parliamentarian or historian report was given.

Kahlyn Heine, County Council representative, told members that the club could sponsor an ad in the 4-H tabloid that will be published during National 4-H Week. She also announced that the council is selling cookbooks and collecting items for chemotherapy kits. Community leader Lanaea Heine told the club about Creative Fitting and Showing at the fair, state fair sign-up, the possible ad in the 4-H tabloid, community service to aid victims of the Greensburg tornado, record books and elections.

Charles Garzillo, poultry leader, announced that a chicken wash would be July 29 at the Garzillo home. The auction animal committee told members that more donations were needed. The club banner committee showed the finished banner for the fair.

The club approved getting a one-eighth of a page advertisement in the 4-H tabloid. Kirstyn Heine, Delaney Dieker, Piper Hubbell, Emory Hubbell, Kasey Garzillo, Amanda Coatney and Mary Garzillo gave a program on going to camp.

The meeting was adjourned by members saying the club pledge and motto. The meeting was followed by a potluck meal.

The next meeting is set for Aug. 27 at Wakarusa Valley School.
