Lawrence-based Landplan Engineering announces the promotion of two employees:

¢ Janelle N. Phillips is the new director of operations in the company’s Junction City office, responsible for staff development, marketing and overseeing day-to-day operations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Kansas University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Kansas State University. Her current projects include Olivia Farms, in Junction City, and The Highlands, in Abilene.

¢ Matthew L. Murphy is now engineering manager in Landplan’s office in Kansas City, Mo., responsible for directing engineers and technicians and ensuring the technical quality of their work. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University. His current projects include the Bonner Springs Library, the Sweet Life at Overland Park, and New Marketplace Apartments in Kansas City, Kan.
