Fort Riley soldier from New York killed in Iraq

? A Fort Riley infantry soldier from New York was killed Friday in Iraq when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb, the Army said late Sunday.

Pfc. Daniel A. Fuentes, 19, of Levittown, N.Y., was killed in Baghdad. Fuentes, a member of 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry of the 4th Brigade, was the 91st soldier from Fort Riley killed in the war.

Fuentes joined the Army in 2005 and joined the 1st Infantry Division in 2006. This was his first deployment. The brigade went to Iraq in February. There are more than 6,000 Fort Riley soldiers deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
