Law enforcement report

¢ A 50-year-old city employee called police to report a person trespassing about 3:30 a.m. Saturday at the City Wastewater Treatment Plant, 1400 E. Eighth St.

The employee told police he was checking one of the pools when he saw a tall white male wearing a baby blue jacket, light-colored shorts and a ball cap walk over a catwalk, then head east on a sidewalk inside the perimeter fence. The employee reported the man continued walking east across an open field and into a tree line.

Officers were called back to the plant about 5:30 a.m. when the same employee noticed his car was missing. The vehicle had been parked next to the gate on the east side of the main office building. The employee also reported a city-owned Blazer and a city-owned Ford F250 truck were burglarized.

Police found the employee’s vehicle, which had been driven through the fence and into a pile of tree trunks and limbs. The damage estimate is not complete.
