More than 4,000 youngsters were in town for the annual Kansas University Band Day observance that included the popular morning parade through the downtown and the football halftime mass concert. Following recent damp weather, the youngsters all brought rain gear. As it turned out, they did not get wet and the weather was nearly ideal for their activities.
