A 22-year-old man was killed early this morning in a hit-and-run accident, Lawrence Police said.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident was reported at 1:09 a.m.

According to a police news release, the man was walking across the intersection at 13th and Kentucky streets when he was struck by what may have been a silver Toyota Camry, from the 2002 model year or later.

The Toyota sustained minor damage to the right front corner quarter panel.

Police are asking anyone who saw the accident – or the vehicle before or after the accident – to call them at 785-832-7501.
