¢ The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement at seven and a half tables. The Sept. 13 game was directed by Virginia Seaver. Playing North-South, Suzanne Wassmer and Wanda Durbin won first in A, followed by Julia Brooks and Chris Lane who won second. Alice Leitch and Fran Vogel won third in A and first in B and C. Sally Davis and Phyllis Brownlee won second in B and C.

At East-West, Shirlie Vaughn and Chuck Hedges won first overall. Lois Clark and Cathy Blumenfeld won second in all three strata, and Wanna Roszel and Bebe Huxtable won third.

¢ The Wednesday Evening Bridge Club played a team game at two tables directed by Don Brennaman. Al Ballard and Don Brennaman tied with Don Daugherty and Harry Talley to win the Sept. 13 game.

¢ Kaw Valley Bridge Club had a special event Sept. 14. Four tables participated in an Instant Matchpoint game for gold point awards. The event was directed by Eldon Herd. Phyllis Brownlee and Yvonne Hedges won the event, followed by Lois Jones and Jeff Nash, of Topeka, and Clara Elkins and Bob Dailey, of Emporia.

¢ The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement on Sept. 15 at eight tables directed by Don Brennaman.

Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough won first in A playing North-South, and Eldon Herd and Chuck Hedges won second. Yvonne Hedges and Sally Taylor won third in A. Wanna Roszel and Janice Hollowell won first in B and C.

Klee Zaricky and Virginia Seaver won first in A at East-West, followed by Sally Davis and Nita Scales who won second in A and first in B and C. Mona Bell and Madelyn Jenks won third in A and second in B.

¢ The Sunday Afternoon Bridge Club played a Howell movement at two and half tables directed by Chris Lane. Kent McCullough and Clyde Romer won first, followed by Virginia Hamilton and Vern Gregg. The next Sunday game will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 15.

¢ The Monday Evening Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement at eight and a half tables directed by Virginia Seaver.

Terry Tolar and Harry Shaffer won first in A and B playing North-South. Phyllis Brownlee and Madelyn Jenks won second in A and B and first in C. Lois Jones and Chris Lane won third in A.

At East-West, Janice Bremer and Kelley Bremer won first in A, B and C. Jeff Nash and John Hickey won second in A and Donna Johnson and James Masilamani won third. Klee Zaricky and Lois Clark won second in B and C.

¢ Paul Hunt, director of the Ballard Community Center, was the guest speaker at the Lawrence Pilot Club‘s Sept. 11 meeting at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The Pilot Club has donated money during the past month to the Ballard center. The club is planning an antiques show Oct. 27-29.

¢ University Bridge Club announces the winners of its Sept. 16 game. Hosts were Virginia Williams and Lois Liebert.

Blue winners were Ray Ikenberry, first; Florence McNicoll, second; Willie Stoltenberg, third; Tom Waller, fourth; and Dan Harden, fifth.

Pink winners were Myrna Ikenberry, first; Jane Golden, second; Virginia Williams, third; Carolyn Harden, fourth; and Gini Wigington, fifth.
