¢ Patterson Golf Winner: Jay Patterson recorded a 68 to capture Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club net tournament at Alvamar. Curt Anderson, David Davison and Kent Beisner were runners-up with 71s. Mike Naegele, Bob Parker, Tom Dennis and Robert Ward all recorded 72s. Bud Stagg had the low gross score with a two-over-par 74.

¢ Loyd Hole-in-One: Peggy Loyd used a 7-wood to ace the 115-yard No. 8 hole at Alvamar Country Club. Witnesses were Herb Loyd, Jim Clark and Carl Ricketts.

¢ Wempe Hole-in-One: Pat Wempe used a 9-iron to ace the 137-yard No. 2 at Alvamar Country Club. Witnesses were Mike Magnusson, Bryan Dreiling and Bill Westerbeke.

¢ Perry Hole-in-One: Dwight Perry choked a 7-iron to ace the 153-yard No. 15 at Alvamar Country Club. Witnesses were Barb Perry, Bob McKinney and JoAnn McKinney.

¢ Couples League: The next Couples League event at Eagle Bend Golf Course will be at 5 p.m. Sept. 16. For information, call 748-0600.

¢ Sand Rat Trail Run: The Sandrat Trail Run, a 9.5-mile road race, will be Oct. 1, starting near the Ballard Center and run mostly on Kansas River trails. For information, contact Steve or Marcia Riley at 842-4351 or srmriley@sunflower.com.

¢ Officials Meeting: An orientation meeting for anyone interested in becoming a city adult sports basketball official will be at 7 p.m. today at the Community Building.

¢ Youth Bowling: Lawrence Youth Bowling leagues will begin this weekend at Royal Crest Lanes. Meetings will start at 8:45 a.m. Saturday followed by league play. Bowlers who haven’t registered yet should show up at 8:30 a.m. For information, call the lanes at 842-1234 or Mike Miller at 864-5626.

¢ Race Winners: Dee Boeck and Fran Breslauer, both of Lawrence, earned age-group titles in the Leawood Labor Day 5K. Boeck won the women’s ages 55-59 category and Breslauer the women’s 65-69 division.

¢ City Dodgeball, Basketball: Registration for city adult fall basketball and dodgeball leagues will end Wednesday, which is also the final day to sign up for the “Keep on Kickin'” Kickball tournament. Also, late registration for adult fall volleyball has been extended to Friday.
