Street strategies

To the editor:

You recently published an article about 23rd Street and an online poll about how to make it safer. But in the poll you left out a couple of possibilities and the article didn’t address them either.

The first way would be to take land along the existing road and make a frontage road with limited access points along 23rd with stop lights. I know for some businesses this would create a problem, but it would solve the issue. The other solution would be to ban anyone under the age of 25 and especially students of Kansas University from driving on that road. Since these are the age groups and people creating over 90 percent of the problem, eliminate them and the problem goes away.
